How the two tickets go together

A 50/50 add-on ticket can only be purchased together with a Win4Cancer main lottery ticket. Every time.

Buy a Win4Cancer ticket, then add a 50/50 package in the same order. The raffle system will not let a 50/50 package through on its own, so the pairing happens every time you buy.

How it works

From choosing a package to holding a number

  1. Choose a Win4Cancer ticket package

1 ticket for $25, 8 for $100 or 30 for $250. Every main ticket is entered in all three Early Bird draws and in the main draw.

  2. Add 50/50 tickets

    During checkout you can add a 50/50 package: 5 for $10, 30 for $20, 150 for $50 or 300 for $75. The 50/50 add-on is only available with a main ticket purchase.

  3. Pay on the AGCO-approved system

Payment is completed inside the BUMP electronic raffle system operated by Canadian Bank Note. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay are accepted.

  4. Receive your ticket numbers

Online purchases arrive by email at the address you entered. Purchases made at a point-of-sale terminal are issued as a printed ticket. Keep it — a valid ticket is your receipt and proof of purchase.

  5. Watch the draw results

Winning numbers are drawn by the certified random number generator inside the raffle system and published on this site and on the Foundation's social channels.

Where the money goes

Half to the winner, the rest to cancer care in Ajax and Pickering

50% of every dollar spent on 50/50 tickets goes to the winner. The remaining half, and the proceeds of the main lottery after prize and licence costs, fund cancer diagnostics and treatment at Lakeridge Health — Ajax Pickering Hospital.

  • Endoscopy towers and colonoscopes

Used in the Ajax Pickering endoscopy suite, where colorectal cancers are found early enough to be removed during the same procedure.

    $412,000 2024

  • Digital mammography and breast ultrasound

Imaging equipment for the diagnostic breast assessment programme, shortening the wait between an abnormal screen and a confirmed diagnosis.

    $268,500 2024

  • Laparoscopic surgical instrumentation

Minimally invasive instruments for cancer surgery in the Ajax Pickering operating rooms, which shortens recovery and hospital stays.

Questions

Questions people ask before they buy

Why can't I buy a 50/50 ticket on its own?

The 50/50 raffle is licensed as an add-on to the main Win4Cancer lottery. Rule 14 of the Rules of Play requires a Win4Cancer main ticket purchase every time a 50/50 ticket is bought. The raffle system enforces this at checkout.

Can I buy tickets from outside Ontario?

No. You must be physically located in Ontario at the moment of purchase. This is a condition of both AGCO licences and the raffle system checks location at checkout.

Do I get a tax receipt for a ticket?

No. Canada Revenue Agency rules do not allow a charitable receipt when you receive a chance to win in return. Donations made through the Donate page do receive a receipt.

How will I know if I have won?

A Foundation representative contacts the winner directly using the details recorded with the ticket, and gives instructions for claiming the prize. Winning numbers are also published on the Winners page and on the Foundation's social channels.

How is the 50/50 prize paid, and how is the car handed over?

The 50/50 prize is paid by cheque or electronic transfer once identity and ticket validity are confirmed. The vehicle is collected from Boyer Chevrolet Buick GMC at 425 Bayly St W, Ajax, once the transfer paperwork is complete.

What documents do I need to claim a prize?

Government-issued photo identification showing you are at least 18, and the valid ticket or the email confirmation carrying the winning ticket number. For the vehicle you also need a valid Ontario driver's licence and proof of insurance before you can drive it away.

How long do I have to claim?

Prizes must be claimed within the period set out in the Rules of Play and confirmed in writing by the Foundation when it contacts the winner. Unclaimed prizes are dealt with as directed by the AGCO.

Can I get a refund or exchange a ticket?

No. Ticket sales are final. This applies to online purchases and to tickets bought at a point-of-sale terminal.

Who is not allowed to enter?

Foundation employees and directors, the Lakeridge Health senior leadership team and board, TBK Creative employees, BUMP employees, Ajax and Pickering Boyer employees, anyone in the same household as those people, and AGCO employees.

What is an Early Bird draw?

Three cash draws held during the campaign, for $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000. Buy before the cut-off date and your main tickets are entered. Tickets that win an Early Bird stay in the main draw and the 50/50 draw.

Who is BUMP / Canadian Bank Note?

BUMP is a division of Canadian Bank Note Company Ltd. and a gaming supplier registered with the AGCO. Its electronic raffle system handles ticket sales, ticket numbering, the random number generator and the draws.

Where can I check the licence numbers?

Both numbers appear in the footer of every page, on the 50/50 raffle page and in the Rules of Play: Main Prize Lottery Licence # RAF1553326 and 50/50 Draw Lottery Licence # RAF1553324. Licences are issued by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

Do I need an account to buy a ticket?

No. An account is optional. It lets you keep your ticket numbers in one place, set draw reminders, manage your consent settings and use the responsible play tools. Purchases themselves are completed in the raffle system.

How do I unsubscribe from draw reminders?

Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email, or turn reminders off under Notifications in your account. Requests are actioned immediately and always within 10 business days, as required by Canada's anti-spam legislation.

I bought at a kiosk. Where is my ticket number?

Point-of-sale purchases produce a printed ticket at the terminal. The number is printed on it. Keep the ticket — it is your receipt and your proof of purchase.

How much of my money reaches the hospital?

Half of all 50/50 ticket sales goes to the 50/50 winner. The rest of the 50/50 sales, and the main lottery proceeds after prize and licence costs, fund cancer equipment at Lakeridge Health — Ajax Pickering Hospital. The Foundation publishes what was purchased on the Your Impact page.

How are the winning numbers chosen?

By the certified random number generator inside the BUMP electronic raffle system, in the presence of Foundation representatives at 580 Harwood Avenue South, Ajax. Nothing about the draw happens on this website.

How do I delete my account and my data?

Open Profile and security in your account and choose Delete account, or write to privacy@win4carcer.ca. Deletion removes your profile and saved ticket numbers from this site. It does not affect ticket records held by the raffle system, which the Foundation must retain under its licence conditions.
